Recommendations Of Various Yoga Totes

By Janelle Burnett

Going to the yoga studio and keeping the body healthy is extremely important, but to add to that experience why not have a comfortable way of carrying all the supplies that go with it. Having to carry a mat on top of all the clothes, shoes, water bottles, i-pods, and music along with the chance of something getting stolen or lost can sometimes feel like too much. But here are a few varieties of yoga totes to make the journey a bit smoother.

Trying to find ways to keep the clothes looking ironed while also having to carry them to and from work can sometimes be a hassle. Thankfully though there is a bag that keeps the clothes straight and also provides room for the yoga mat. It is in the shape of a garment bag that has straps at the top and bottom. When folded there is space that the mat can sit without crinkling the clothes. There are also zippers for phones, change, and other random goodies.

Looking good while carrying the mat is not as difficult as it sounds. Yogis that like to stay trendy while walking to and from the studio may want to take a look at this bag. It can take the form of a tote or messenger bag allowing for flexibility depending on the style they are feeling. There are many different pockets throughout the bag as well.

The more athletic and sportier looking ways to carry the mat would be with this type of tote. On those rainy days or hot yoga days, this is a great way to keep everything dry and separated with its nylon material that is waterproof. It looks like a larger shoulder bag, but it has space on top to rest the mat. It is a bit pricier depending on the size and style that is chosen.

For the simpler yogis that do not really care or cannot afford to care too much about how the mat is carried to and from the studio, purchasing a strap might be the best option. It keeps the load lightweight and secure, plus there is no need to worry about anyone getting into the side zippers. These can have Velcro or an adjustable strap that keeps it fastened in place. Another option would be to get a nylon bag and strap to cover the mat. There are not any side zippers that keep it clean and simple.

There are also bags that have hand embroidery, which is a great way to stay unique and have a bit more personality to them. This is also an easy way to find the bag and catch anyone that tries to snag it due to their envy.

The final option is for the more environmentally conscientious. These totes are made out of plastic bottles that are recycled and water resistant. They have two should straps making it a great way to carry the mat while riding on a bike in town.

These are just a few different options of Yoga Totes out there. By figuring out what is needed for the studio, how one is getting there, what the budget is, and how important style and comfort are, the options can be limited down quite a bit.
