Kinds Of Bible Verses Regarding Anxiety

By Wanda Vaughn

If you are looking for Bible verses on anxiety you will not be disappointed. There are many, many to be found. There are a wide variety of opinions why there are so many references to feelings of anxiousness. Whether you view the Bible as the Word of God or simply a compilation of stories with good life lessons this book has been referred to for many centuries as a source of guidance.

As the Bible came into existence the written word began to take the place of the teacher. No longer was a human speaking to an individual or group the only way to convey a message. Once the words began to be written down the content could be understood by larger and larger numbers of humans.

The Bible has been read, studied, and distributed throughout the world over the centuries to millions and millions of people. The stories, messages, and lessons in it have been used to influence events of monumental proportions as well as to guide a single individual. One of the myriad of human conditions that are addressed as verses in this series of books is that of anxiety. This human condition seems to have been a challenge for people then as it is in this day and age.

Some verses in the Bible that address anxiety refer to Jesus speaking to his disciples telling them not to worry about what they will eat or wear the next day. He explains that there is more to life than food or deciding what to wear. He uses the example of the ravens that have no storeroom for food but that they have food every day. He finishes by reminding His disciples how much more valuable they are than the birds and that they would be taken care of by God.

Verses about anxiety refer to the simplicity of how a simple, cheerful word can raise the spirits of a person. For someone whose life seems to be filled with anxiety or is experiencing anxious times Bible verses may provide just the right amount of relief. Sometimes the simplest of solutions is the most powerful.

There are passages that recommend people transfer their anxiousness to God. This would be done to take the burden off of their own mind. Doing so can allow a person to pay attention or focus on their worldly responsibilities and other activities that they value.

Another recurring theme is that of praying to the Holy Spirit for inspiration or for insight. When tenseness or uncertainty has a hold on a person's peace of mind, it is hard to concentrate on daily responsibilities. This is the idea that sometimes you need relief or guidance from sources that you cannot physically grab hold of or touch.

The causes of stress and fear in a person's life can come from many directions. Sometimes it is clear what is causing stress. Sometimes a person has no idea what is causing it but they know they are experiencing it. The Bible makes many references to turning over the issues or problems to God that are causing anxiety. It is a form of transferring the responsibility to a higher source. This can allow the person to move back into continuing with their daily life believing a power greater than they is provided by using Bible verses on anxiety.
